What is RSL Reach Out?

Giving veterans the support they deserve

For over 100 years the RSL has advocated for benefits, treatment and the welfare of current and former serving members of the Australian Defence Force.

The RSL Reach Out Service continues this promise by offering dedicated and practical assistance for the challenges veterans may face in everyday life.

Development of this much needed service began with local sub-branch, Largs Bay RSL who saw the opportunity to engage RSL SA/NT & Broken Hill State Branch to extend this statewide.

CEO Tara Belton says “The purpose of this service is to remove the barriers that our veterans face to get them the exact support they need, as soon as they need it.  With a large range of service offerings available to veterans in our state, the support provision can become quite daunting. This is where the care coordination is most important.”

The complexity of challenges that veterans face can be vast. The RSL is uniquely placed to provide tailored support, with trained well-being support officers and care coordinators who understand veteran life.

“After 109 years of operation, we understand veteran life more than most.  Leveraging this power, we have been able to create a service that has been the missing link for our veterans in giving them a place to turn, for whatever challenge life throws their way.” Tara said.
“We have a deep understanding of our landscape.  Because of this, managing the journey to ensure veterans are getting what they need is easy for us.  If we can’t do it, we know who can.  Providing this one stop shop for a veteran is the least we can do considering what they have done, and continue to do for us.”

Access to the RSL Reach Out service is free of charge and open to all veterans in SA, NT and Broken Hill.
